The day
A performance troupe from the local community brings drums, song and dance to the hotel courtyard after dinner. It is loud, close and genuinely joyful, and by the second half you will be pulled up to join in.
This is not a hotel floor show bought in from an agency. The group is from the villages nearby, the songs are theirs, and the fee goes directly to the performers and their community fund. Between sets the lead dancer explains what each piece is for: a harvest, a wedding, a coming of age. Bring a camera; they are happy to be photographed.
