The day

A set menu served on board a touring coach as it loops the city bowl, the Atlantic seaboard and the Waterfront. Courses arrive as the view changes, and the guide narrates between them.

It sounds like a novelty and it works beautifully. The coach is fitted out as a dining room with proper tables and linen, the kitchen sends up three courses on a timed loop, and each course lands at a different view: starters through the city bowl, mains along the Atlantic seaboard as the sun goes down over Camps Bay, dessert coming back past the Waterfront. Good for groups, and a genuinely different way to see the city at night.
